is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Renate Baehr as Executive
Director. With this appointment, Mrs Baehr becomes the Foundation's
3rd Executive Director - and first female director - in it's 17 year
history. Mrs Baehr joined the Foundation 13 years ago, and her
appointment guarantees that DSW's work will continue to remain of the
highest quality and that the Foundation will be well positioned to play
a leading role in both programmes and advocacy for sexual and
reproductive health issues. Mrs Baehr's appointment marks the end of a
lengthy international search process and wide consultations with key
partners.

40 participants took part in a 5-day intensive training in community mobilisation skills. The participants were drawn from the Youth-to-Youth networks, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Health. The training was conducted by DSW-trained moderators, who were supported by a Training Officer from Family Programmes Promotion Services (FPPS) for the purpose of ensuring quality assurance. The trained participants will support the community advocacy campaigns, whose goal is to create community-wide awareness and education against HIV/AIDS prevalence and sexual and reproductive health risks.
